SoCon Announces Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

WOMEN’S CO-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Kristen Meister? Davidson College

Freshman ? Toledo, Ohio (Maumee Valley Country Day HS)

Kristen finished fourth in the high jump at the Wake Forest Open with an NCAA regional qualifying mark of 5-8.75.  She is currently ranked first in the SoCon rankings.

 

Kerrie Savery? Western Carolina

Junior ? Palm Harbor, Fla. (Palm Harbor HS)

Kerrie ran 2:11.38 in the 800 meters and 4:43.22 in the 1500 meters along with a 56.9 split on the 4 x 400 relay.  She is currently ranked first in the SoCon at 800 meters and the 4 x 400 and third in the 1500 meters.  Kerrie also excels in the classroom, she is an honor roll student.

 

Other top performers:

Brenna Burns, Jr, Davidson (Weaverville, N.C. ? Carolina Day HS) Brenna finished second at the Wake Forest Open with a school record and conference leading time of 17:03.89 for 5,000 meters.  She is a Psychology major with a 3.97 GPA.

 

Brittani Williams, Jr, Appalachian State (Charlotte, N.C. ? Charlotte Christian) Brittani finished ninth in the shot put at the Wake Forest Open with an NCAA regional qualifying mark of 47-0.75.  She is currently ranked first in the SoCon rankings and is majoring in Psychology.
