UNC Wilmington 6, The Citadel 1
Wilmington, N.C. ? The Citadel tennis team dropped their 11th-consecutive match Monday afternoon, falling at UNC Wilmington, 6-1. The Seahawks, behind Holland and fellow seniors Caio Piacentini, Dennis Myers and Ben Kotwall, won their second straight match to improve to 7-4 overall. The Bulldogs dropped their 11th straight match, falling to 2-14.
The 52nd-ranked doubles tandem of Daniel Dossetor and James Eason won their second straight match with an 8-6 victory.
The Seahawks nailed down the doubles point when Henrique Meloni and Brian Ford edged The Citadel’s Frederic Petrilli and Martin King, 8-6, at No. 3 doubles. UNCW’s No. 2 tandem of Piacentini and Gustavo Bertei cruised past Alberto Diaz and Derek Jose, 8-3, to give the Seahawks the early edge before Dossetor and Eason, ranked 52nd nationally, brought the Bulldogs even with an 8-6 decision over UNCW’s Holland and Myers.
UNCW took five of the six singles matches, however, to secure the victory. The Seahawks surrendered just one set in the six matches, pushing their singles record to 38-26 this spring.

Myers defeated Jose, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 4 singles, Meloni outlasted King, 6-4, 3-6, 6-0, at No. 5 singles and Piacentini trimmed Dossetor, 6-4, 7-6 (6), at No. 1 singles.
