Spartanburg, S.C. -- The Southern Conference today named Wofford baseball player Brandon Waring as the TIAA-CREF Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 14.

Waring, a junior from West Columbia, S.C., hit .556 in Wofford’s series win over Manhattan last weekend.  He was five for nine with three home runs, a triple, four runs scored and eight RBIs.  Waring finished the series with a 1.778 slugging percentage.

Off the field, Waring boasts a 3.28 GPA and is majoring in business economics. 

Other top performers include Appalachian State’s Ryan Brookshaw (men’s tennis), Elon’s Paige Goss (softball), Furman’s Andy Juc (men’s tennis) and UNCG’s Kara Clouser (softball).
