Western Carolina?s John Ingram Honored; Listed Among Collegiate Baseball Foundation?s National Honor Roll Players of the Week

Western Carolina senior John Ingram's strong performance last week has again garnered the transfer weekly recognition. Ingram was today listed among the College Baseball Foundation’s (CBF) National Honor Roll Players of the Week.

This is the first CBF weekly honor for the Catamounts this season.

Ingram, who was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week on Monday, hit .520 (13-for-25) in five games last week with 12 RBI and 10 runs scored. The Alpharetta, Ga., native posted five extra base hits, including three home runs, a triple and a double for 25 total bases and a slugging percentage of 1.000. In last week's win at East Tennessee State, Ingram went 4-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored and also drove in a pair of runs. He hit two home runs against Xavier on Saturday and one in Sunday's series winner to give him three on the season.

To date, Ingram ranks third on the team in batting average at .387 (24-of-62) with the second-most RBI with 21. His three round-trippers rank tied with junior Jonathan Greene for second behind Smith's seven homers, while his five doubles and triple are tied for the team lead.

This evening, Western (9-6) travels to Athens, Ga., to face the Georgia Bulldogs at 5:00 pm at Foley Field. WCU left-hander Drew Saberhagen (1-1, 1.31 ERA) is scheduled to face Georgia’s leftie, Jason Leaver (0-1, 6.75 ERA).
