MEN’S CO-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Manteo Mitchell ? Western Carolina

Sophomore ? Shelby, N.C. (Crest H.S. ? Sport Management Major 2.741 GPA)

Mitchell won the 400m at the Akron Invitational with a SoCon leading time of 47.98. He also ran 6.93 in the 60m, which is third best in the Southern Conference. Mitchell’s other SoCon rankings are fifth in the 200m and he is a member of Western Carolina’s number one ranked 4 x 400m relay.

 

Adam Van Nortwick ? Appalachian State

Senior ? Saranac Lake, N.Y. (Athletic Training Major)

Van Nortwick finished second in the mile at the Akron Invitational. His time of 4:07.72 is a personal record and ranks him third all-time at ASU. He currently leads the SoCon in the mile and the 3000m. In addition to being a superior athlete, Van Nortwick is also a two-time Academic All-American.
