SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that VMI’s Josh Wine has been named the Wrestler of the Week.

Wine, a freshman from Fredericksburg, Va., pinned Gardner-Webb’s Evan Rhodes to give VMI the lead and win 22-16 competing in his first-ever collegiate wrestling match at heavyweight.  His record is 1-0 with one pin. 

Wine also is a defensive lineman on the Keydet football team and led the team in fumble recoveries with three.
