SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Appalachian State’s Lorelle Rau was named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week. A standout on Appalachian State’s volleyball team, Rau has a 3.75 grade point average in Studio Art.
The Oakland Park, Fla. native posted a triple-double in a Mountaineer win against UNC Greensboro. She had 10 kills, 46 assists and 10 digs in helping the Mountaineers to their eleventh straight win. Rau had 52 assists, three digs and two kills in a victory against Elon. Rau posted a .379 hitting percentage with 12.25 blocks and 1.62 digs on the week.
Rau is 10th in hitting percentage with .282 and fourth in assists at 11.25 a game in conference play. The Mountaineers are currently on an 11-match winning streak and are second in the conference standings.
