SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? UNC Greensboro’s Jasmine Dixon was named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week.  A standout on UNC Greensboro’s women’s basketball team, Dixon graduated last May with a 4.0 grade point average in Communications and African Studies.  Dixon is working toward a master’s degree with a 4.0 grade point average in graduate studies.  She was inducted into the UNC Greensboro chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, an academic honor society.

Dixon, a Reston, Va., native recorded her first career double-double against UNC Asheville on November 24.  She had 16 points and 11 rebounds in a 77-70 loss.  Dixon’s 11 rebounds were a new career high.

Dixon set new career highs in field goals with six, field goals attempted with nine, assists with three and minutes played with 31.  She is second on the team in field goal percentage with .450, free throw attempts with 3.9 per game and scoring average with 6.8 points per game.  Dixon leads the team with 5.8 rebounds and 10 offensive rebounds.
