UNC Greensboro guard Kendall Toney was named Southern Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 26.

Toney nearly broke the NCAA record for three-pointers on Nov. 24. Toney connected on his first eight three-point attempts before missing a shot with 4:11 to play. The Division I men’s basketball record of 9-for-9 shooting from three-point range has been accomplished on three occasions.

A native of Charlotte, N.C., Toney finished the game with 24 points in a 93-76 victory over USC Upstate. The sophomore grabbed five rebounds and dished out three assists in 30 minutes of action.

Other notable performances were turned in by Stephen McDowell (Chattanooga), Julian Allen (Georgia Southern), Ola Atoyebi (Elon), Stephen Curry (Davidson), Demetrius Nelson (The Citadel), Doug McLaughlin-Williams (Appalachian State) and Donavan Monroe (College of Charleston).
