UNC Greensboro forward Kyle Hines was named Southern Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 19. Hines averaged 18.7 points and 8.0 rebounds in three contests, leading the Spartans to a 3-1 mark.

UNC Greensboro opened the season with an 83-74 victory over Georgia Tech and also defeated Texas-Pan American (70-54) before falling at Missouri State (79-52).

Averaging 34.7 minutes per game, Hines shot 47.8 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from the free throw line with seven steals and eight blocked shots. He also dished out five assists in the three contests.

Hines became UNCG’s all-time leading scorer in the game at Missouri State. He has tallied 1,647 career points, eclipsing the mark of 1,646 set by Jay Joseph. Hines’ streak of consecutive double-figure games stands at 53 --- the longest current streak in the nation.

Other notable performances were turned in by Western Carolina Nick Aldridge, Davidson’s Stephen Curry, Chattanooga’s Kevin Goffney, Georgia Southern’s Louis Graham, Appalachian State’s Kellen Brand and Elon’s Montell Watson.
