SPARTANBURG, S.C. ?The Southern Conference Cross Country Coaches selected Carolina Sanker of Davidson the Women’s Runner of the Week for October 3. The award is Sanker’s second women’s runner of the week.
Sanker, a junior psychology major from Rocky River, Ohio, came in 9th at the Auburn Invitational with a conference leading and school record time of 17:05. She led her Wildcat teammates to a third place finish against 22 other teams that included No.14 Iowa and No.25 Florida.
Other top Performers:
Kathleen Turchin, a senior at Chattanooga, placed 11th in a field of 200 runner s at the Louisville Classic. She ran the 5k course in 17:34 leading her team to a fifth place finish.
Hanna Parks, a junior at Appalachian State, finished 87th in a field of 317 runners at the 35th Annual Paul Short Run held at Lehigh University. The field included six top Division I teams.
Caitlin Beeler, a sophomore at Elon, finished 57th out of a field 317 runners at the 335th Annual Paul Short Run. She ran a school record of 21:55 while leading her team to a 20th place finish in a field that included six top Division I teams.
