SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? College of Charleston goalkeeper Corbin Waller posted two shutouts last week and has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.

A native of High Point, N.C., Waller was perfect between the pipes last week by not allowing a goal in 180 minutes of action. Waller stopped four shots in Charleston’s (10-4-1, 4-1-0) 2-0 victory at Wofford on Tuesday night. The senior followed that performance with another clean sheet against Appalachian State in which he stopped five Mountaineer shots in helping the Cougars to their second SoCon win in a row.

For the season, Waller leads the Southern Conference with eight shutouts. Charleston, which currently sits in a tie with Elon for second place in the league standings with 12 points, returns to action Tuesday against Georgia Southern at 5:00 p.m. in Statesboro, Ga.

Other top performers this week include Furman midfielder Patrick Murray and UNC Greensboro goalkeeper Chad Janda.
