Elon’s scott Riddle Named Offensive Player of the Week

Elon quarterback Scott Riddle (Ramseur, N.C.) was named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week. Riddle completed 41-of-51 passes for 343 yards and three touchdowns as the Phoenix topped Wofford, 24-13, in Spartanburg, S.C. His 41 completions were a school record. Riddle leads the nation with 2,247 passing yards and 31.1 completions per contest.

Western Carolina’s Quinton Phillips Earns Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Western Carolina linebacker Quinton Phillips (Charlotte, N.C.) earned SoCon Defensive Player of the Week honors. The junior registered a career-best 20 tackles against The Citadel. Phillips has registered the conference’s top two tackle totals. In addition to his performance against The Citadel, he had 19 stops at Georgia Southern on Sept. 29.

The Citadel Place Kicker Mike Adams Earns Special Team Player of the Week Accolades

The Citadel place kicker Mike Adams (Orlando, Fla.) was named SoCon Special Teams Player of the Week. Adams booted three field goals in The Citadel’s 37-31 triumph at Western Carolina. Adams connected in a career-best 49 yards field goal along with field goals of 29 and 32 yards. In addition, the senior converted all four extra point attempts in the game.

Georgia Southern’s Billy Lowe Named Freshman of the Week

Georgia Southern quarterback Billy Lowe (Lakeland, Fla.) was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Week. In his first extended action, Lowe completed 8-of-11 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown as the Eagles beat Appalachian State, 38-35. He is the fourth different Georgia Southern player to earn Freshman of the Week accolades.
