SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Davidson’s Lauren Conner has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week after leading the Wildcats to league wins over Appalachian State and The Citadel.

Conner began the week in dramatic fashion with a goal in the 108th minute to send Davidson (6-3-0, 2-0-0) past Appalachian State, 2-1 in double overtime, on Thursday night. The Mechanicsburg, Pa. native followed that performance with the Wildcats’ initial goal in a 5-0 conference road victory at The Citadel on Sunday afternoon. The two game-winning goals on the week give Conner four for the season, placing her atop the conference standings in that category.

Other top performers from the week were Appalachian State midfielder Jaclyn Hoffman, College of Charleston forward Kerry Broderick, Elon midfielder Katina Boozer, Furman midfielder Gena Villari, Georgia Southern forward Ashley Toussaint, UNC Greensboro forward Kelly Attayek, Western Carolina midfielder Shanna Schmoker and Wofford midfielder Aubrey Thomson.
