SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Furman goalkeeper Bryan Amos recorded a pair of shutouts during the week and has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.
The senior netminder grabbed two saves in 17th-ranked Furman’s 1-0 win against Wofford on Tuesday night, and he equaled that effort with two more stops in a 1-0 blanking of Appalachian State on Sunday afternoon. A native of Plano, Texas, Amos currently ranks second in the country in goals against average (0.322) and save percentage (0.915) while tallying seven shutouts in the Paladins’ first 13 matches.
Other top performers this week include College of Charleston goalkeeper Corbin Waller, Georgia Southern goalkeeper Brian Young and UNC Greensboro forward Thomas Campbell.
