Offensive Player of the Week

The Citadel quarterback Duran Lawson (Conway, S.C.) was named Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Lawson led the Bulldogs to a 54-51 overtime win over Furman. The senior completed 28-of-37 passes for 386 yards and three touchdowns and rushed 19 times for 100 yards and a score to set the school total offense record with 486 yards. The Citadel set a school-record with 641 yards in the game.

Defensive Player of the Week

Chattanooga safety Chris Camacho (Los Angeles, Calif.) earned Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors. Camacho recorded double-digit tackles for the fourth consecutive game to lead the Mocs to a 39-21 win over Western Carolina. He had six solo tackles and one tackle-for-loss. He was credited with a safety in the second quarter. The Mocs yielded just 273 total yards in the victory.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Elon place kicker Andrew Wilcox (Richmond, Va.) was named Southern Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. Wilcox booted five field goals including a career-long 49-yard field goal to lift the Phoenix to a 36-33 double-overtime win over Georgia Southern. Wilcox also kicked field goals of 48, 32, 41and 34 yards in the game as Elon defeated a nationally-ranked team for the third time.

Freshman of the Week

Furman tailback Mike Brown (Atlanta, Ga.) was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Week. Brown returned three kickoffs a total of 129 yards, including a 76-yard return for a fourth-quarter touchdown in Furman’s game at The Citadel. The native of Atlanta, Ga. also caught three passes for 21 yards in the game.
