SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Elon’s Nick Aparicio has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of September 5.

Aparicio, a freshman from Plano, Texas, led the Phoenix to a 2-0 record last week, including a conference win. He started the week with an assist and the game-winning goal in a 2-1 overtime win over conference-rival Davidson on Sept. 1. Aparicio then assisted on two of Elon’s three goals, including the game-winner, against Charlotte on Sept. 3, giving the Phoenix a 3-1 win.

On the week, Aparicio tallied five points on one goal and three assists. He was named the most valuable player of the Davidson adidas Classic in which Elon was the only undefeated team.

Other top performers include Appalachian State’s Corey Lugger, College of Charleston Jeremy Gold, Davidson’s Tom Lavan, Furman’s Chris Davis, Georgia Southern’s Kellen Stanley and Wofford’s Brandon Lowery.
