SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that Georgia Southern’s Adam Webb has been named the Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for September 26.

Webb, a senior goalkeeper from Melbourne, Fla., led the Eagles last weekend as they opened the SoCon season. He started the week with a shutout over UNC Greensboro as the two teams ended the match in a scoreless tie on September 20. Webb tallied seven saves in 110 minutes played against the Spartans. He finished the week with a 2-0 shutout over Appalachian State on September 23 where he grabbed four saves.

Webb recorded 11 saves in 200 minutes played and two shutouts brought his career total to nine. He is among the conference leaders in goals against average, shutouts and saves. Webb was also named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.

Other top peformers from last week include College of Charleston’s Jeremy Gold, Davidson’s Robby Goldsberry, Elon’s Nick Aparicio, UNC Greensboro’s Nate Berry and Wofford’s Brandon Lowery.
