SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that College of Charleston’s Lindsey Kane has been named the Molten Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of September 25.

Kane, a junior setter from Dubuque, Iowa, led the Cougars to a 3-0 record last week in conference play and to begin the conference season undefeated.  On Tuesday, she recorded 43 assists in the Cougars 3-0 win against The Citadel.  College of Charleston went on the road for the weekend to face Davidson on Friday where Kane tallied 42 assists in the Cougars victory.  In a close battle on Saturday against Appalachian State, she posted a double-double with 61 assists and 16 digs in the 3-2 win over the Mountaineers.

On the week, Kane tallied 146 assists in just three matches for the Cougars. She also recorded nine kills and 27 digs and leads the league in assists average with 12.28.

Other top performers include Appalachian State’s Carla Durham, Chattanooga’s Jamie Engel, Davidson’s Liz Williamson, Furman’s Kerry Wooten, UNC Greensboro’s Theresa Hart, Western Carolina’s Liz Rondone and Wofford’s Sarah Twitty.
