SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that Davidson’s Kristen Koehrn has been named the Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of September 12.

Koehrn, a junior forward from La Mesa, Calif., recorded her first career hat trick last week in leading the Wildcats to two shutouts. She started the week scoring the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over High Point on September 8, giving Davidson its first win of the season. Koehrn then recorded a hat trick, including two second-half goals, in Davidson’s 4-0 win over Gardner Webb on September 10.

On the week, Koehrn tallied eight points on four goals. She also had 11 shots and nine shots on goal. She leads the league averaging 1.60 points per game.

Other top performers include Appalachian State’s Jennifer MacNeill, College of Charleston’s Katie Browne, Chattanooga’s Stacey Mattiessen, Elon’s Molly Calpin, Georgia Southern’s Lauren Crossan, Western Carolina’s Bri Cunningham and Wofford’s Becca Maloney.
