SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Southern Conference announced today that Davidson’s Jenna Dyksytra has been named the Molten Volleyball Player of the Week for September 11.
Dykstra, a senior from Manhattan Beach, Calif., led the Wildcats last week in three non-conference matches at the TCU Invitational. She started the week with nine kills, 44 assists and seven digs in a five-game match against TCU on September 8. The setter then recorded 26 assists and 10 digs against Ole Miss on Saturday morning before tallying seven kills, 38 assists and 10 digs in a 3-0 win over Centenary.
On the week, Dykstra posted 18 kills, 108 assists, three service aces, 27 digs and three blocks in 11 games. She also had a .412 hitting percentage.
Other top performers include Appalachian State’s Cassie Engelgau, College of Charleston’s Lindsey Kane, Chattanooga’s Bethany Herndon, Elon’s Emily Lucci, Furman’s Chibuzo Aguocha, UNCG’s Kaitlyn Nortz and Western Carolina’s Meredith Harmon.
