SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Chattanooga’s Nikki Brannen has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of August 29.

Brannen, a sophomore striker from Chattanooga, Tenn., led the Mocs to two wins last week to start the season 2-0. Brannen started the week scoring the first goal in a 2-1 win over Arkansas State on Friday. She followed with two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-1 win over Eastern Kentucky on Sunday.

For the second straight year, Brannen has scored the Lady Mocs’ first goal of the season. She has a .500 shots on goal average.

Other top performers include College of Charleston’s Brittany Schneider, The Citadel’s Maggie Bryan, Davidson’s Nancy Haskell, Georgia Southern’s Laura Smith, Western Carolina’s Alesha Row and Wofford’s Jessica Connett.
