Southern Conference Public Affairs Internship

Position: Southern Conference Public Affairs Assistant (Re-opened) 
Available: Immediately 
 
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Commissioner for Public Affairs.

 

Duties include:  
1. Serve as the primary media contact for several Olympic sports.
2. Assist the media relations’ staff with football and men’s and women’s basketball.

3. Website updating responsibilities, including daily upkeep.
4. Assist with championship administration, marketing, television and other League events or initiatives.
5. Some travel to selected championships. 
 
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required. One year of experience as a student worker in a sports information office is preferred.  Applicants should have a strong knowledge of sports, as well as strong organizational, verbal and written skills. Strong journalistic writing ability with knowledge of AP style guidelines is necessary. Experience and knowledge of computers, especially desktop publishing and Stat Crew and Adobe Photoshop is essential. 
 
This position has a bi-monthly stipend.
