Elon's Robert Rodebaugh was one of four Southern Conference baseball players to be named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region Team.  Rodebaugh, a first-team choice as a designated hitter, was joined by Furman's A.J. Davidiuk (SS), Western Carolina's Steven Strausbaugh (OF) and College of Charleston's Nick Chigges.

Rodebaugh ranked among the league’s leaders in six different offensive categories.  A first-team all-conference DH, the junior finished the season 18^th in hitting (.340) while also ranking in the top-10 in the conference in doubles (T2nd, 21), RBIs (3rd, 60), walks (3rd, 47) and fourth in both on-base percentage (.467) and slugging percentage (.606)

Davidiuk, who last week was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 29th round of the Major League Draft, was the consensus 2006 Southern Conference Player-of-the-Year selection in voting by league head coaches and media association.  He batted .362 with 11 home runs and 48 RBIs in leading Furman to a 32-23 record and 16-11, third place finish in the SoCon.  In league play he hit .430 with eight home runs and 31 RBI and was twice named league player-of-the-week, TIAA-CREF scholar athlete-of-the-week, as well as SoCon Player-of-the-Month for April.

Strausbaugh ed the SoCon in home runs (17), RBIs (64) and slugging percentage (.675), while ranking 19th in the league in batting average (.340), third in runs scored (61), ninth in doubles (17) and second in total bases (141). The 2006 first team All-SoCon honoree additionally ranks among the NCAA leaders in home runs (23rd), RBI (34th), slugging percentage (36th) and runs scored (38th).

Chigges was named the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year, earned co-MVP honors in the SoCon Tournament and was also named to the Lexington Regional All-Tournament squad. 

Chigges posted an 11-2 record and ranks second nationally with a 1.40 ERA.  He pitched 115.2 innings and allowed 86 hits with 48 walks and 100 strikeouts.  Opponents hit just .205 against the Columbia, SC native.
