STATESBORO, Ga. - After two hard fought doubles matches, the Georgia Southern women’s tennis team could not survive Jacksonville University Friday afternoon (April 7), falling 5-2.

The doubles teams of Szilvia Zsakay & Lauren Wolken at No. 1, and Heather Reynolds & Molly Maddox at No. 2 both lost tough matches to give JU the opening point. Zsakay and Wolken battled Emese Sulyos and Lena Willi to extra points, eventually being set down 9-7. Reynolds and Maddox played Megan Williams and Nanar Airapetian close before falling 8-5.

Singles play saw Georgia Southern (5-14, 2-5 SoCon) drop flights one thru four, but pick up victories at No. 5 & 6. Reynolds earned her 10th win this spring with a 6-0, 6-0 win over JU’s Elizabeth Styles in the fifth spot, and freshman Shea Huxtable got her third win from the No. 6 position, and fourth overall, with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Keri Zwikker.
