Southern Conference announces Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for April 5th

Women

 

Tangelia Johnson ? Western Carolina

Sophomore ? Charlotte, NC

Tangelia won the 100 and 200 meter events at the Western Carolina Invitational.  Her 200 meter time was a school record 24.11, and her 100 meter time was 11.82.  She was also a member of the school and track record 4 x 100 relay, she is currently ranked first in the SoCon rankings in the 100, 200 and both relays.

 

Men

 

Zeb Johnson ? Western Carolina

Sophomore ? Charlotte, NC

Johnson won the 200m at the Western Carolina University Invitational in a NCAA Regional qualifying, WCU school record and WCU track facility time of 20.88.  He also ran on the NCAA Regional qualifying, school record setting and WCU track facility record setting 4 x 100m relay team which posted a time of 40.31.  He also finished second in the 100m with a time of 10.54.  Johnson currently leads the SoCon in the 100m and 200m and is a member of the conference leading 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays.

 

Ian Mayne ? Chattanooga

Senior ? Pickering, Ontario, Canada

Mayne, running in his first 10K of the season, posted a league leading time of 30:16.20 at the Stanford Invitational.

 

Douglas Noreen ? Davidson

Junior ? Apex, NC

Noreen won the 800m at the UNC Charlotte Inv, with a conference leading and personal and school record of 1:52.26.  This was his first 800m of the outdoor season.  He also split 50.1 in the 4x400m relay.
