MEBANE, NC ? Angie Hill of College of Charleston fired a two-under par 70 on Friday to help lead the College of Charleston (294) to the overall team lead after the first round of the 2006 Southern Conference Women’s Golf Championship at the par 72 Mill Creek Golf Club.
Hill was one of only two SoCon women’s golfers on the day to conclude the day below par, as Western Carolina’s Bianca Melone carded a one-under par 71 to end the day one stroke behind Hill and help the Catamounts as a team to second place (295).
UNC Greensboro is four strokes behind Western Carolina in third place with Ashley Mylton in sole possession of third place individually after shooting an even par 72.
