THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The women’s golf championship was first hosted in Greenville, SC in 1994. Furman has won all but one of the tournament titles with Western Carolina edging the Lady Paladins in 2003. Three different schools have had student-athletes win the individual medal, with Furman taking home 10 of those honors.
Furman won the 2005 championship, which was played at the Furman Golf Course. It was the Lady Paladins’ second-straight title after winning nine straight from 1994-2002. Western Carolina’s Ashley Hovda was the runner-up.
