THE CHAMPIONSHIP

The men’s golf championship is one of the Southern Conference’s oldest tournaments and was first hosted in Greensboro, NC on 1933. Former member East Tennessee State holds 17 titles, the most in league history, followed closely by Furman with 13. Fourteen schools have won the title, including six current members.

ETSU won the 2005 championship, hosted by Davidson College. Prior to 2005, Furman, Georgia Southern and College of Charleston had all won a title, breaking ETSU’s dominance in men’s golf as the Bucs won 12 of the last 17 tournament titles.
