UNC Wilmington 6, Georgia Southern 1
Powder Springs, Ga. - The University of North Carolina - Wilmington ended the Lady Eagles two match winning streak Tuesday, (Mar. 7), defeating Georgia Southern 6-1.
The Eagles (3-7, 1-0 SoCon) saw three singles matches go to three sets, but only junior Heather Reynolds (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) was able to come out on top, defeating Cassie Martin 6-7 (6), 6-4, 10-7 in the No. 5 position.
The Seahawks (8-1) took the other singles matches and swept the doubles portion to earn the fourth straight victory of their spring break trip.
Georgia Southern will return to action on Hanner Courts this Sunday (Mar. 12), as they host SoCon rival Davidson at noon. The Eagles will look to go to 4-1 at home and remain perfect in conference play.

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA ? UNC Greensboro got straight-set wins from Lisa Suggs and Erica Zabkar, but it wasn’t quite enough as the Spartans lost to Cal Poly, 4-3, in women’s tennis action Tuesday.
Suggs won at No. 1 singles over Samantha Walker, 6-4, 6-3, while Zabkar zipped through at No. 4 singles over Maria Malec, 6-0, 6-1. The Spartans’ Whitney Miles also earned a three-set win, rallying to defeat Sheila Lewis at No. 3 singles, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
UNCG concludes its California swing on Thursday when it takes on Cal State Fullerton.
