Chattanooga’s Badr Bouabdella and Davidson’s Lora Dushanova have been named the Southern Conference Men’sand Women’s Tennis Players of the Week for the week ending Mar. 27.
Bouabdella, a sophomore from Casablanca, Morocco, helped Chattanooga to two conference wins this past week, and finished 2-0 at the No. 3 and No.4 positions in matches against Davidson and UNC Greensboro. He improved his singles winning streak to a team-high 13 matches and improved his team-best individual mark to 16-2 on the 2006 campaign. Bouabdella was also 1-1 in doubles matches on the week, playing alongside Artyom Vlasenko. Bouabdella and Vlasenko are a team-best 11-3 in doubles action so far this season, going 7-1 at the No.3 position. In singles play, he lost only seven games during the week in his two straight-set victories. Bouadella remains undefeated in Southern Conference matches at 5-0.
