DAVIDSON, N.C. ? The Davidson men's tennis team dropped its third straight dual match when the Wildcats fell to visiting Chattanooga, 6-1, in Southern Conference tennis action on Sunday afternoon at Covington Courts. Davidson dropped under the .500 mark for the first time this year at 7-8 overall and fell to 1-4 in SoCon play. Chattanooga won its second straight SoCon match after defeating UNC Greensboro on Saturday to improve to 3-3 in league play and 11-7 overall.
Davidson lost the doubles point as it was only able to take the number three doubles match when sophomores Matt Hartman (Austin, Texas) and Phillip Compeau (Wilkesboro, N.C.) won their first match of the season as a doubles pair, earning an 8-5 victory over Artyom Vlasenko and Badr Bouabdellah.
Bouabdellah came back for Chattanooga and led his Moc teammates to wins in five of the six singles matches to secure the the 6-1 win. Bouadbellah won his 12th straight singles match, defeating the Wildcats freshman Ethan Jaffee (Indianapolis, Ind.), who had nine singles wins coming into the match, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
The lone win for Davidson came at number one singles when sophomore Flaviu Simihaian (Nasaud, Romania) snapped his two-match losing streak with a three-set win, 6-1, 2-6, 7-6(5), over Ryan Fitzgerald. Simihaian improved his individual record in singles play to 7-7.
Davidson wraps up its seven-match homestand in the month of March by finishing out against SoCon foe UNC Greensboro on Monday, Mar. 27 at 2 p.m.

The ETSU men's tennis team defeated former Southern Conference foe, College of Charleston, 6-1 at the Memorial Center in Johnson City on Sunday.
The Bucs are now 17-5 on the year while the Cougars fall to 15-2 with the loss, snapping a 15-match winning streak.
The Bucs took the lead early by winning the doubles point. In No. 1 doubles Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) and Juan Crosa (Asuncion, Paraguay) defeated Or Dekel and Marcus DiGliodo, 8-1 and Felix Insaurralde (Asuncion, Paraguay) and Lisandro Picardo (Mar del Plata, Argentina) defeated Mike Reynolds and Omer Abramovich, 8-5, at the No. 2 position to clench the doubles point. In the No. 3 doubles match Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) and Sebastian Serrano (Cartagena, Colombia) defeated James Petit and Justin Malina, 8-4.
In singles action, Oscar Posada was defeated by Or Dekel, 6-3, 2-6, 10-7, in the No. 1 slot, while Felix Insaurralde defeated Marcus DiGliodo, 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 2 position. In No. 3 singles, Juan Crosa defeated Justin Malina, 6-4, 6-1. In the No. 4 position, freshman Enrique Olivares defeated Omer Abramovich, 2-6, 6-3, 10-8, while in the No. 5 slot Lisandro Picardo defeated Mike Reynolds, 6-1, 6-1. Sophomore Sebastian Serrano defeated Perry Allen, 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 6 position.
