The Southern Conference today named Wofford’s Ellen Rogers as the TIAA-CREF Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 22.

Rogers, a senior women’s tennis player, went 1-1 last week with a win over nationally ranked Anastasia Zhukova of Chattanooga in three sets in her lone conference match last week. The win over Zhukova, who prior to the match owned a 12-0 overall record and had not dropped a set all season, improved Rogers’ overall record on the season to 8-5 and 2-0 in league play from the No. 1 slot.

The Lookout Mountain, GA, native lost a three-set decision to Charlotte’s top player at the No. 1 position in her only other match on the week.

Rogers carries a 3.75 cummulative GPA as an English major.
