UNC Greensboro's Lisa Suggs Wins Women's Tennis Player of the Week Award

SPARTANBURG, SC -- UNC Greensboro’s Lisa Suggs has been named Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending Mar. 20.

Suggs, a sophomore from Fayetteville, NC, had a perfect week against SoCon competition, finishing the week 3-0 at the No.1 singles position. She helped the Spartans to a 2-1 overall record on the week and is now 3-2 in SoCon play at the No.1 singles position and sports a 7-5 overall record at the position. Suggs defeated Maxine Capewell of College of Charleston and Evin Prelec of Elon in straight sets, and defeated Szilvia Zsakay in three sets to wrap-up UNCG’s 4-3 triumph over Georgia Southern.

Suggs and the Spartans will return to the court on Tuesday, Mar. 21 to take on the Princeton Tigers in Durham, NC.
