Wofford 5, Charlotte 2

Chris Barlow won his third-straight singles match of the week despite the Wofford men's tennis team dropping a 5-2 decision at Charlotte Friday afternoon in non-conference action.

Barlow knocked off Ryan Johnson 0-6, 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2 singles slot for his eighth win of the season, tying sophomore Andrew Stubbs for the team lead.

Junior Alex Fridzon posted the other Terrier point on the afternoon, as he topped Dorian Host 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 at the No. 3 position.

Stubbs won the first set before falling to No. 83-ranked Roy Sichel during the No. 1 contest, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

The doubles pair of Barlow and Stubbs was victorious in their No. 1 doubles match, earning an 8-3 triumph versus Host and Sichel.

Wofford drops to 6-7 with the loss, while the 49ers improve to 7-9.

After playing their last five matches on the road, the Terriers will return home for a 2 p.m. Monday contest against Southern Conference foe Elon at the Reeves Tennis Center. Local radio station ESPN 1400 AM will do a live remote broadcast of its "Open-Mic" show from 3-6 p.m. at the match.
