Chattanooga (27-3), winners of the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the 2006 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament and a nation-high 26 consecutive games, was named a 12 seed by the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Selection Committee and will play fifth-seeded Kentucky (21-8) on Saturday, March 18 in Chicago.

The game will mark the second straight season that Chattanooga and Kentucky have tangled in postseason play. The Lady Mocs and Wildcats faced off against one another in the second round of the WNIT in the 2004-05 season, with Kentucky advancing in the postseason tournament, 91-54.

The winner of the Chattanooga-Kentucky game will face the winner of the #4 Michigan State-#13 UW-Milwaukee game on Monday. The MSU/UWM game will air on ESPN2 at 12 p.m., Chattanooga's game will follow approximately 30 minutes later.
