SPARTANBURG, SC --The Citadel’s James Eason has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 27.

Eason, a sophomore from Christchurch, New Zealand, completed the week with a 2-0 record at No.3 singles and was 2-0 in doubles play, competing at both the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. He was instrumental in leading The Citadel to victories in two conference matches this past week against Davidson and Wofford. Eason rebounded from a close 7-5 first set loss to Wofford’s Alex Frisdon to win the second and third sets, 6-0 and 6-1, breaking Frisdon’s two-match winning streak.

The Bulldogs will be in search of their first three-match winnng streakof the season, hosting Georgia Southern on Saturday, March 4.
