SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that Chattanooga’s Aaron Martin has been named the Wrestler of the Week for the week of Dec. 20.

Martin, a senior from Pataskala, Ohio, helped lead the Mocs to a win over No. 14 Ohio State in dual match action on Sunday.  In the first match of the day he defeated 19th-ranked Lance Palmer with a second-period pin.  The 149-pounder put the Mocs up 6-0 as they went on to take the dual 28-13.

For the week, Martin went 1-0 with one pin.  He remains undefeated in dual matches and improved to 13-4 on the season.

Other top performers include Appalachian State’s Dave Hazell, The Citadel’s Darius Caldwell, UNCG’s Chris Bencivenga and VMI’s Sam Alvarenga.
