College of Charleston's Lindsey Kane Earns Third Molten Volleyball Player of the Week Honor

SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that College of Charleston’s Lindsey Kane has been named the Molten Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of November 6.

 

Kane, a junior from Dubuque, Iowa, recorded a triple-double and led the Cougars to a 3-1 record last week.  The setter tallied 71 assists and 15 digs in the 3-2 loss against Coastal Carolina on Tuesday.  In conference action on Wednesday, she recorded 50 assists and six kills in the 3-1 victory over Georgia Southern.  Kane notched her first triple-double of her collegiate career in the 3-1 win over Chattanooga on Saturday.  She tallied 50 assists, 10 kills and 15 digs for the Cougars in the match.  On Sunday she recorded 42 assists and five blocks in the 3-0 win against Western Carolina.

 

On the week, Kane tallied 213 assists, 49 digs, 25 kills and 13 blocks in four matches for College of Charleston.  She also hit for a .407 clip and averaged 13.31 assists per game last week.  She is among the league’s leaders in assists averaging 12.16 per game.  This is Kane’s third Molten Volleyball Player of the Week honor this season.

           

Other top performers include Appalachian State’s Dianna Thomas, Chattanooga’s Leslee Ball, Furman’s Courtney Stewardson, Georgia Southern’s Gorana Bacic, UNC Greensboro’s Theresa Hart, Western Carolina’s Liz Rondone and Wofford’s Shana Glenn.
