Appalachian State's Dianna Thomas Tabbed Molten Volleyball Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that Appalachian State’s Dianna Thomas has been named the Molten Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of October 9.

 

Thomas, a junior middle blocker from Mobile, Ala., led the Mountaineers to their sixth straight win and a 3-0 record last week.  On Tuesday Thomas recorded 10 kills, five digs and four blocks in the 3-0 win over Gardner-Webb.  She notched 17 kills, three blocks, six digs and three assists in the 3-2 conference victory over Furman on Saturday.  In limited action on Sunday, she added eight kills, four assists and three blocks in the 3-0 win against Wofford.

 

On the week, Thomas tallied 35 kills and 10 blocks in three matches for the Mountaineers.  She also recorded 15 digs and eight assists.

 

Other top performers include Chattanooga’s Leslee Ball, College of Charleston’s Emily Sawin, The Citadel’s Rachel Sanders, Davidson’s Katie Pierucci, Elon’s Juliena Gigon, Furman’s Courtney Stewardson, Western Carolina’s Liz Rondone and Wofford’s Lindsey Richardson.
