Spartanburg, S.C. -- The Southern Conference today named Chattanooga women’s cross country runner Lanni Marchant as the TIAA-CREF Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of October 4.
Marchant, a senior from London, Ontario, finished second out of 273 runners at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday. She led the Mocs to a second place finish out of 31 teams.
In the classroom, Marchant boasts a 3.862 GPA and is majoring in economics and pre-law. She is a CoSIDA Academic All-American, three-time member of the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll as well as a three-time member of the Southern Conference Academic All-Conference team.
