SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that Wofford’s Kendra Merchant has been named the Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of October 31.

Merchant, a freshman from New Orleans, La., scored two of the Terriers three goals and helped lead Wofford to an unbeaten record to close-out the regular season last week.  The forward netted the game-winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Georgia Southern on Friday.  She scored the tying goal on a penalty kick in the 1-1 draw with Appalachian State on Sunday. 

On the week, Merchant tallied four points on two goals.  She ended the regular season among the league’s leaders in goals and total points.

Other top performers include Davidson’s Suzanne Sittko, Furman’s Anna Betton, UNC Greensboro’s Jennifer Bronson and Western Carolina’s Alesha Row.
