Georgia Southern's Ashley Toussaint Tabbed Women's Soccer Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that Georgia Southern’s Ashley Toussaint has been named the Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of October 3.

 

Toussaint, a sophomore forward from Warner Robins, Ga., came off the bench in two matches to lead the Eagles to a 2-0 record last week in conference play.  She scored two goals in the 4-1 win over The Citadel on Friday.  She recorded her first match-winning goal of the season on Sunday in the 1-0 victory against Chattanooga. 

 

On the week, Toussaint tallied six points on three goals in two matches for the Eagles.  She is among the league’s leaders in goals and points per match.

 

Other top performers include Appalachian State’s Emma White,  College of Charleston’s Sarah Wiggers, Davidson’s Tracy McCausland, Furman’s Briana da Mota, UNC Greensboro’s Shannon Donovan, Western Carolina’s Heather Dittmer and Wofford’s Kendra Merchant.
