SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? The Southern Conference announced today that Appalachian State’s Corey Lugger has been named the Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of October 10.

Lugger, a junior midfielder from Irmo, S.C., assisted on all four goals the Mountaineers scored last week to go unbeaten in conference play.   He notched an assist on the tying goal in the 1-1 draw with Elon last Tuesday.  He added three assists, including one on the game-winning goal, in the 3-2 win over UNC Greensboro on Saturday.

On the week, Lugger tallied four points on four assists in two matches for the Mountaineers.  He leads the league in assists with eight on the season.

Other top performers include College of Charleston’s Zach Prince, Furman’s Chris Davis, Georgia Southern’s Adam Webb, UNC Greensboro’s Mike Richardson, and Wofford’s Phil Beene.
