Elon 92, Chattanooga 74
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - Montell Watson scored 25 points, hitting 6-of-9 3-pointers, to lead Elon over Chattanooga 92-74 Monday.
Elon (6-9, 3-0 Southern Conference) built a 46-34 halftime lead after shooting 58.6 percent before the break. For the game, the Phoenix shot 54.4 percent, including 16-of-30 3-pointers.
Chris Chalko added 19 points for Elon, hitting three 3-pointers during a late first-half spurt when the Phoenix stretched their lead from five points to 18.
Jackson Atoyebi had 13 points and LeVonn Jordan 12 for the Phoenix.
Chattanooga (9-8, 1-2) was led by Charles Anderson with 15 points, including 6-of-7 from the floor. Alphonso Pugh scored 14 and Keddric Mays, Ricky Hood and Jerice Crouch had 10 each.
The Mocs, who shot 45.6 percent for the game, got only as close as 46-36 in the second half.
Chattanooga's last lead was 8-5 early in the game on a layup by Mays.
Georgia Southern 71, College of Charleston 68
STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Georgia Southern hit just 1-of-9 three-point attempts Monday night - an uncharacteristic night from beyond the arc - but rallied in the second half to win its 17th straight home game, 71-68 over the College of Charleston.
College of Charleston had the final possession with a chance to tie the game, but failed to get off a shot.
Louis Graham led the Eagles (11-4, 2-0 Southern Conference) to their seventh straight win overall with 22 points - none of them 3-pointers. Elton Nesbitt, who has had a hot hand from 3-point range the past two seasons (including seven treys while compiling 33 points against The Citadel on Saturday), finished with 18 points but was 0-for-4 for 3-pointers.
Donte Gennie, who had GSU's sole 3-pointer, finished with 9 points.
College of Charleston (8-6, 1-2) was led by Dontaye Draper's 21 points.
The Cougars (8-6, 1-2) led 34-27 at halftime, but the teams traded points until the Eagles chipped away and tied the game at 50.

Furman 83, Wofford 52
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Stanley Jones scored 19 points and pulled down six rebounds as Furman beat Wofford 83-52 on Monday night.
The Paladins (8-6, 2-1 Southern Conference) hit their first five shots and forced turnovers on the Terriers' first four possessions to breeze to the win.
Furman scored the first 12 points of the game, led 21-4 after six minutes and shot 64.3 percent (18-of-28) in the first half to lead 48-24 at the break.
The Paladins led by as much as 36 and finished the game shooting 58.2 percent from the field (32-of-55).
Wofford (5-11, 0-3) shot just 32.7 percent (17-of-52) and were outrebounded 39-20.
Shane Nichols and Matt O'Connor each had 10 points to lead the Terriers.
Moussa Diagne and Robby Bostain score 12 points apiece for Furman.

Appalachian State 68, Western Carolina 53
BOONE, N.C. -- Appalachian State University men’s basketball jumped out to a 20-point first-half lead and never looked back en route to a 68-53 victory over archrival Western Carolina on Monday night at the Holmes Center.
Appalachian (6-9, 1-2 Southern Conference) never trailed in the win. In fact, the game was only tied twice, at 2-2 and 4-4, before the Mountaineers went on a 31-11 run that gave them a 35-15 lead with 2:49 to go in the first half.
The Apps saw a 16-point halftime advantage whittled down to five points with six-and-a-half minutes to play, but closed the game on a 16-6 run to secure its third-straight win over Western (7-10, 1-1 SoCon).
ASU sophomores Jeremy Clayton and Doug McLaughlin-Williams both recorded their second-career double-doubles with 14 points and 12 rebounds and 12 points and 11 rebounds, respectively. Point guard D.J. Thompson led all scorers with 18 points.
WCU center David Berghoefer also registered a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 14 boards.
