CHARLESTON, SC ? College of Charleston women's soccer freshman Danielle Jordan was one of 18 players selected by Region III for the United State Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) U-19 National Camp at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA February 8-12.

Jordan, a 2005 graduate of West Ashley High School, was a 2005 All-Southern Conference selection in her first season and led the team in assists from her left back position.

The event, which brings together the top 18 players from each of the country’s four regions, will be held at the United States Soccer Federation’s training headquarters in Carson, Calif.

“This is a great honor not just for Danielle and our program but for anyone that gets selected for this type of national event,” Head Coach Kevin Dempsey said. “It shows how four months, in a quality environment at the next level, can develop a player.”

The star-studded roster of current and incoming college players includes Jane Alukonis, Lindsey Beam (Charlotte), Rachel Givan, Amber Gnatzig (Texas A&M), Jennifer Hance, Kelly Hathorne (North Carolina), Danielle Jordan (College of Charleston), Maria Lubrano, Christie McDonald (Duke), Kelley O’Hara (Stanford), Carrie Patterson (Georgia), Diane Pfenninger (Texas), L.G. Robinson (Texas A&M), Katie Schultz (Vanderbilt), Chrissy Strini (Mississippi), Megan Vickery (Mississippi), Nikki Washington (North Carolina) and Lauren Wilmoth (UCLA).
