Davidson 80, College of Charleston 70

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Brendan Winters scored 25 points as Davidson beat the College of Charleston 80-70 Tuesday night.

 

The game was tied at 66 with 3:34 to go when Ian Johnson's layup started the Wildcats (10-6, 4-1 Southern Conference) on a 10-0 run that sealed the win.

 

Johnson had 20 points for Davidson, who has beaten the Cougars (9-7, 2-3) four straight times.

The Wildcats shot 50 percent (30-of-60) from the field, while Charleston shot 35.4 percent (23-of-65).

 

The Cougars led just once on Dontaye Draper's 3-pointer with just over 14 minutes that gave them a 49-47 lead.

 

Draper scored 18 points and David Lawrence added 13 points and seven rebounds for Charleston.

 

Jason Morton added 11 points for Davidson.

Furman 66, Georgia Southern 63

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) - George Brozos made a 3-pointer with 36 seconds left and Furman beat Georgia Southern 66-63, snapping the Eagles' 18-game home winning streak Tuesday night.

 

The Paladins (10-6, 4-1 Southern Conference) took a 61-60 lead with 2:11 left in the game on a jumper by Brozos. The Eagles (12-5, 3-1) regained a two-point lead with one minute left on Donte Gennie's 3-pointer.

 

Brozos, who finished with 12 points in only 13 minutes playing time, then connected on the game-deciding basket. Moussa Diagne scored 15 points and Robby Bostain added 11.

 

Gennie led Georgia Southern with 18 points, while Elton Nesbitt had 15.
