College of Charleston’s Amanda TimmersTabbed SoCon Volleyball Player of the Week

Amanda Timmers, a senior from  Appleton, WI, helped the College of Charleston to a 2-0 mark in the CofC Invitational this past weekend.

In the Cougars’ two matches, Timmers recorded 37 kills, averaging 4.62 kills per contest. She had a .533 hitting percentage in Thursday night’s 3-0 win over South Carolina and recorded a combined 30 digs in both matches, including 16 in a 3-2 win over Houston. Timmers completed the double-double perfomance by tallying a season-high 20 kills against Houston.

The College of Charleston will travel to Furman and Wofford this weekend in two key Southern Conference tilts.

 Other Notable Perfomers: Whitney Purser of Furman (18 kills and 10 digs vs. Auburn), Brittany Thompson of Wofford (18 kills vs. Western Carolina), Liz Williamson  of Davidson (recorded 55 kills and 46 digs in the Spring Hill Suites Invitational), Brittany Zahn of Appalachian State (15 kills against Charlotte and hit a career-best .609 against Liberty), and Ellie Talbot of Western Carolina (13 dpg this past week)
