Elon 2, Longwood 1
ELON, N.C. - Trailing 1-0 in the second half, the Elon women’s soccer team capitalized on crucial Longwood mistakes to come away with a 2-1 victory over the Lancers and improve to 2-2-2 on the year. Longwood fell to 2-4-0.
The Lancers took the lead early as Anna Gravely scored for the fourth time this season when she took a Brooke Brumby pass and beat the Phoenix keeper at 9:21. Despite collecting seven shots and seven first half corner kicks, Elon was unable to find the back of the net in the first period.

In the 72nd minute, Kerri Speers netted her team-leading third goal of the season, an unassisted score for the game-winner.
The Phoenix held commanding edges in shots (19-5), shots on goal (9-3) and corner kicks (9-1).
Lizz Johnson made two saves on the day for Elon, going the distance in net. Storrie made four saves for Longwood over 57:28 before being carded. Anne Whitmore finished the final 32:32 in net and grabbed four saves, but allowed both Elon scores.
