Donkin transfers to Elon

ELON, N.C. -- Elon University head women's basketball coach Brenda Paul today announced that Myra Donkin (Perth, Australia/Cincinnati State CC) has transferred into Elon and will be eligible to play for the Phoenix in the 2005-06 season as a junior.

Donkin, a 5-8 point guard, captained Cincinnati State to the Elite 8 of the NJCAA tournament this past season while averaging 11 points, three rebounds and four assists per game. The national letter of intent signee began her collegiate career at Broward Community College where she was a second team all-conference selection after averaging 16 points, four rebounds and four assists per outing in 2003-04.

As a member of the West Australian Basketball Association team, Donkin earned team MVP accolades in both 2001-02 and 2002-03. She represented Western Australia at the 2001 Youth Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

Myra is the daughter of Ian and Cheryl Donkin and attended Willetton Senior High School in Perth.
